SAKUMETA Hoshina Sōshirō Cosplay Wig
Custom Purple-Black Gradient Heat-Resistant Matte Fiber
Inspired by Hoshina Sōshirō from Kaiju No. 8, this cosplay wig features a custom purple-black gradient color that faithfully recreates the character's calm yet commanding appearance. Premium heat-resistant matte synthetic fibers provide a soft, natural finish while reducing unwanted shine for superior anime accuracy.
Supporting heat styling up to 150°C, the fibers remain smooth, durable, and easy to reshape, allowing convenient trimming and personalized styling whenever needed.
Faithfully Recreated Rounded Short Hairstyle
The rounded short hairstyle is carefully sculpted with clean layered cutting to accurately reproduce Hoshina's iconic silhouette. Every strand is positioned to capture the composed yet energetic appearance that defines the character.
Professionally pre-styled by SAKUMETA, the wig offers an excellent balance between anime accuracy and everyday practicality, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced cosplayers.
Layered Eyebrow-Length Bangs for Accurate Anime Proportions
The eyebrow-length layered bangs are precisely designed to complement the character's facial proportions while naturally framing the face. The balanced fringe enhances overall realism and helps recreate Hoshina's recognizable expression.
Additional trimming space is reserved, allowing cosplayers to customize the bangs according to their own face shape.
Realistic Scalp Top for Natural Hair Parting
A realistic simulated scalp top creates a natural-looking hair part that enhances authenticity during close-up photography and convention appearances. Combined with high-quality matte fibers, the wig achieves a convincing anime-inspired finish from every viewing angle.
The refined craftsmanship makes the hairstyle appear cleaner, more realistic, and easier to maintain throughout long cosplay events.
Lightweight Construction with Breathable Rose Mesh Cap
Designed with a breathable rose mesh cap and adjustable elastic straps, the wig offers excellent airflow and a secure fit for various head sizes. The lightweight short-hair construction minimizes pressure while providing lasting comfort during conventions, stage performances, cosplay competitions, and photoshoots.
Every SAKUMETA cosplay wig is engineered to combine professional craftsmanship, long-lasting durability, and faithful character recreation.
Beyond Cosplay - Bring the Character to Life
In the perilous and monster-infested world of Kaiju No. 8, Soshiro Hoshina stands as the ultimate embodiment of a "smiling assassin." As the Vice-Captain of the Defense Force's 3rd Division, he is a genius swordsman from a long line of monster exterminators. To his enemies, he is a terrifying force of nature; he often approaches battles with a relaxed, closed-eye smile and his signature Kansai dialect, lulling opponents into a false sense of security before his eyes snap open and his dual blades strike with lethal precision. Yet, beneath his formidable combat prowess and sharp intellect lies a deeply loyal and reliable man who bears the heavy expectations of his family name. His unique purple-black hair perfectly mirrors his enigmatic, cold, yet sophisticated aura, making him a captivating and highly respected figure for fans of the series.
To faithfully recreate Hoshina Sōshirō's iconic appearance, SAKUMETA designed this premium cosplay wig using custom purple-black gradient heat-resistant matte fibers, a realistic scalp top, and a professionally pre-styled layered short hairstyle. Combining anime accuracy, lightweight comfort, and easy maintenance, this wig is perfect for anime conventions, cosplay competitions, photography, stage performances, and collectors alike.

How to Wear a Wig?
Before wearing a wig, ensure your hair is securely fixed with a wig cap, making sure it is smooth and flat to avoid puffiness or slippage. The wig cap should fit snugly against your scalp without being too tight to maintain comfort. When putting on the wig, start at the forehead and slowly pull it back over your head, aligning the wig's hairline with your natural hairline. Adjust the wig to cover your entire head and gently pat it to ensure a snug fit.
If the wig has straps or clips, use them to enhance stability, especially during extended wear or outdoor activities. For long wigs, gently comb the strands after wearing to maintain a natural and neat appearance.
What is Wig Styling Level?
Wig Styling Level is a star-based rating system (★ one star to ★★★★★ five stars) that shows how much styling effort may be needed to achieve the look shown in our product photos. Some wigs are nearly ready to wear, while others may require trimming, shaping, or other DIY styling work.
How to Care for Your Wig After Wearing?
It's normal for your wig to get messy after wearing due to friction with clothing. Carry a wig care spray to reduce frizz and static. After removing the wig, finger-detangle knots, then gently comb from the ends up. For stubborn tangles, trim as needed without affecting the overall look. Wigs don’t need frequent washing; once every 1-2 months is sufficient. To remove hairspray or sweat, soak the wig briefly in lukewarm water with shampoo, then air dry naturally, avoiding heat or direct sunlight.
How to Clean Your Wig?
Wigs don't require frequent washing. If worn daily, clean them every 1-2 months; if worn occasionally, every six months is sufficient. For cleaning, submerge the wig in lukewarm water, add a small amount of shampoo or conditioner, and gently wash it, avoiding vigorous scrubbing or prolonged soaking. After washing, press the wig with a towel to absorb excess water, but do not use a hot dryer or direct sunlight to dry it, as this can damage the fibers. Air drying is the best way to maintain the wig's texture and style.
Why Does My Wig Make My Head Look Big or Feel Unstable?
If your wig makes your head look larger or feels unstable, it’s likely because your natural hair wasn’t properly secured with a wig cap. The right way is to first wrap your hair tightly with a wig cap and secure it with hairpins to ensure a smooth, even surface. This will help the wig sit securely and prevent it from making your head appear larger.
Wig Hair Quality
Wig hair quality can vary depending on the season, style, and material. During summer, wigs tend to be smoother, so it’s best to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent deformation. In winter, wigs might feel drier, so soaking them in warm water with conditioner can help keep them smooth and reduce static.
Can Wigs Be Heat-Styled or Dyed?
High-temperature synthetic wigs can be styled with curling irons or flat irons at temperatures below 120°C (248°F). However, be cautious with the heat to avoid damaging the fibers. While wigs can be dyed, we recommend against it since synthetic fibers lack cuticles to lock in color, leading to quick fading. Additionally, the dyeing process for wigs is complex and can be time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid re-dyeing to preserve the wig’s quality.
Is a higher star level better quality?
Not at all. The level only reflects how much styling work might be needed—not the quality of the wig itself. All of our character wigs (except universal/base wigs) come with a basic pre-style. The star level simply helps you estimate how much additional effort may be required to recreate the look in the product images.
I’m new to cosplay—what level should I choose?
We recommend starting with wigs rated 1 to 3 stars. These usually require minimal styling or are very beginner-friendly. You can still look fantastic without needing professional tools or prior experience.
